Frequently asked questions
Short answers. If yours isn't here, use the contact form.
What is PixelPT?
A coach in your pocket for training, food and injuries. Set a goal, and it plans each session, adjusts your calories to your results and works around anything that hurts. It uses your session history, Apple Health data, weight trend and injuries.
Can an app really replace a personal trainer?
Not entirely. It can't stand next to you and check your form. What it can do is plan every session, remember everything you've done, adjust as you progress and keep you honest, for a fraction of the price. For many people that's the difference between having a coach and having none.
How is this different from asking ChatGPT?
A general chatbot starts from scratch each time and guesses at numbers. PixelPT remembers your sessions, sleep, weight trend and injuries, works out the numbers in code, and plans your next session from them.
Can I use it now?
Not publicly yet. The iPhone app is in development and nearly ready to test. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when testing opens.
Which devices does it need?
An iPhone. An Apple Watch is optional, and it adds a lot: log sets from your wrist, see heart rate on every set, and give your coach heart rate variability and resting heart rate to plan around. Recovery data comes from Apple Health.
What does the AI actually do?
It chooses exercises and writes the coaching. The numbers, such as calorie targets, load suggestions and trend weight, are calculated by code and given to the AI, so it never does its own arithmetic.
How does it handle injuries?
You log injuries and pain feedback after sessions. It adjusts exercise selection, tracks the pattern and suggests rehab work. It doesn't diagnose, so see a clinician for pain that is sharp, worsening or persistent.
Will it push me to eat very little?
No. Calculated targets respect an energy-availability floor, loss rates are capped relative to how lean you are, and the nutrition side avoids gamified language. If you set your own target that's your decision, and we show the guidance alongside it.
Is it a replacement for a coach, doctor or dietitian?
No. It's general guidance. Talk to a professional if you're pregnant, managing a medical condition, recovering from an eating disorder or coming back from a significant injury.
What happens to my data?
We'll publish a full privacy policy before launch. A draft is on the privacy page.
How much will it cost?
Join the waitlist and it's £10 a month, forever. After launch the price will be higher. See the pricing page for what a personal trainer and similar apps cost.
